Jurassic Park

"Life found a way." - Dr. Alan Grant

One of the most iconic films, directed by one of the most iconic director, Steven Spielberg, hit the big screen in 1993 to knock everyone's socks off and fall in love with dinosaurs again, bringing them back to their youth. And for kids, they will shake in their seats, they will jump with joy from the dinosaur interactions, and they will have a deep love for dinosaurs. Jurassic Park is not only a great movie, great cast, great script, basically great everything, but it is also really important for pushing CGI into the next generation.

Adapted from the book of the same name written by Michael Crichton. Spielberg loved the book, wanted to share his love of dinosaurs, and soon they started on the movie. Luckily, Crichton helped write this movie, which is probably why it is the best of the trilogy (soon to be quadrilogy). . I didn't think there was a character in the movie that didn't need to be, everyone had a purpose and I was satisfied with what happened to everyone by the end of the film. No character felt half-assed, they all had great arcs, each changed by the end of the movie (Grant coming to terms and accepting kids) with some great themes

Speaking of themes....the score of this film is incredible. Iconic, everyone has heard the Jurassic Park theme. Of course that's what you get when you have John Williams scoring for you. The music is astounding, it really gets your blood pumping when you have a dino chase scene, or you're on the edge of your seat when the kids are hiding from predators. The music really brings that extra oomf to the film to make it feel magical.

I want to share my awe for the CGI they used in this film. Jurassic Park used a mix between animatronic and CGI. If I really focus I can tell you what scenes should be CGI and animatronic, but the technique they used for the CGI really hides the fact that there isn't a dinosaur there, and you quickly forget that the creature you're watching is fake and you get sucked into the realism it brings, the threat it gives, and man does it still hold up now. Sometimes the techniques they used in Jurassic Park are actually made so much better than the heavy heavy CGI movies that are released today. You don't go "Oh that's cool, but I know it's fake" you go "Oh S*** that's a real T-rex!" when you watch Jurassic Park.

For many Jurassic Park is their childhood, it made a special place in many people's hearts. I honestly believe that Jurassic Park is a near perfect film, if not perfect. It has enchanted kids around the world, and it will enchanted kids for generations to go. This is an amazingly made film that everyone should see, or watch again

A+
