Horns

He has horns, there is a mystery about, who you going to call?

I want to say, right off the bat, that if you think this is a horror movie you're wrong. I hear people talk about it as a horror film, but there actually isn't much horror in it. Horror is definitely an undertone in this movie that slowly builds up to the finale, but I tend to think of this movie as a Detective/Mystery genre mostly. The focus of the story is the "Who killed this girl?" Everybody blames her boyfriend (Daniel Radcliffe) who is going around trying to find out who really killed her.

Daniel Radcliffe does a superb job, becoming an emotional wreck of a man out for revenge fueled by hatred. All the actors in this film do a good job, but you can easily see that Radcliffe brings it up to another level as he steals the screen. Becoming more used to the horns, you see his personality slowly change, his mortality and inner conscious mold into something else and you're drooling to see what he does next.

The film is stunningly beautiful, the shots are great and it almost feels like it has a fairy tale texture to it. Like you see in the poster the murder happened in the middle of a forest, fairy tale-esque. The locations are cool and memorable as they present a different kind of people for Radcliffe interact with, which produces some great comedic relief.

The music is good, and the special effects (that ending scene O.O) are really nice. Overall all I can't say that there isn't many aspects that I didn't like of this film, all around it was a good production. The most complaints i've seen were about the script, honestly I didn't see anything that was that wrong with it. The story flips from present day to Radcliffe's character when he was young so sometimes it is taxing, but overall there was more positives than negatives in this film.

B+
